Are you using Windows Vista? I don't think it works under Windows Vista but I could be wrong.

I just put together a new system on Friday. Oblivion runs fine with AA+HDR. I am forcing AA/AF from control panel and telling the game to use HDR.

Edit- This is in Win XP32 SP2 with the last official drivers (97.92 I think).

Get nhancer and make sure that the HDR+AA compatibility bit is enabled.

It "should" work.
Try these drivers.

Those are the XTreme-G 100.95 drivers which seem to work very well on 8800 cards. And I think you'd be able to tell if HDR+AA was enabled or not. Just look at the roof of a building or the edge of your sword. Jaggies there or not?
And take a screenshot if your not sure and post it here.

Make sure that when you install the driver you do it THE RIGHT WAY <-IMPORTANT
(most of the time a driver doesn't work right it is because you installed it the wrong way...)
Driver Cleaner Pro is no longer free but you can still find the free 1.5 version on the internet and that will do just fine (google "Driver Cleaner Pro").

Not sure if its required but do you by chance have the latest patch installed for Oblivion? I run Oblivion at 2560x1600 so AA is not needed for me :D

It does look like AA is enabled. Just look at the girls arms. You can definately tell on her arms.

Can someone confirm that AA+HDR with an 8800 definitely does work in Oblivion (with the appropriate drivers)?

It's just that I know many people who think it doesn't.

Yea it does.
If you have the appropriate drivers (97.92+), install them correctly, and make sure the HDR+AA compatibility bit is enabled.

I'm slightly confused ? Do you mean both the "XTreme-G 100.95 drivers" and the 97.92+?

And is the procedure the same for XP and Vista?

By 97.92+ I mean the 97.92 driver and above. (I should clarify this one, the 97.92 driver and every driver that has been released since the 97.92 driver...and are for the G80)

And how can you install 2 different drivers :p :D
So no, not both. For 8800 users I think that the 100.95 driver is a good choice now because it does bring bug fixes and slightly improved performance over the 97.92 (the only other 8800 driver out there thats half way decent).

So for 8800 users, try this driver.
(you can also look in the downloads section for 32/64 bit of both XP and Vista XG drivers).

You can use stock or XG version it shouldn't make a different. Just make sure you have the 97.92 driver or greater, have AA enabled in the driver, HDR enabled in the game and with nHancer make sure that the HDR+AA compatibility bit is enabled.

Any questions? :D
(don't you find all these drivers confusing??? I do  <-Me, but I try to at least sort out the mess...)

And in the compatibility thing make sure the HDR+AA compatibility bit is enabled.

AA doesn't work in Oblivion.

If your frame rate remains the same then trust your eyes because the jaggies haven't gone.

If I have time before I go out of town after work tomorrow I'll post two pics to prove AA+HDR works on an 8800 w/ 97.92 drivers in Oblivion 1.2 tomorrow.

I have prior 97.92 and HDR + AA didn't work. I'll be updating tonight.

Doesn't work in Vista.

It works (97.92). In fact, it's almost free. Without AA, running through the IC Market District (with crowded cities 30 on) I averaged about 36fps (FRAPs benchmark). Ran it again with 16xSSAA and averaged 30fps. Practically free. :D
