ok i was taking off the heat sink and it was stuck so i moved it side to side up and downand then i pulled and the whole cpu just came off with the heatsink locked in the mobo aaa so is it ruined or can it still work.

the only way to know is to try it, unless there is visible damage.

if it ever hapens to you again you want to slowly twist the hsf off, not pull it off.

Yah, don't do the twist from side to side, pull, snap the CPU out of it's socket thing. One should run the sys for a short time in order for it to heat up the heat-sink some. Shut it off, position your case for extraction of the HSF/CPU, wait until you can safely hold onto the HSF without burning your hand, then carefully go thru the extraction process. If you have allready snapped the CPU out with the HSF still connected together, then do this;
Remove the fan assembly from the HS. Put the CPU/HS into a small toaster oven, being careful not to bend any CPU pins, turn up the heat to about 300 deg for a short time, check the unit often until the heat-sink is very warm to the touch, not blistering hot mind you, take the unit out of the oven and carefully pull the CPU off of the HS.

Note- I suggested useing a toaster oven, NOT a Microwave oven. You have been warned.
