I know there are lots of other players out there, but I am specifically looking for small basic mp3 players that use AA batteries exclusively.

Right now I am looking at the following 2 mp3 players and i'm divided on which one would be a better match for my headphones which is the biggest criteria.

Jetaudio G3

Iriver T10

I would appreciate any feedback from people who own either of these two players especially if you've had one for a period of time longer than a year since the newegg reviews never really capture how these players fare in the long run.

I got my dad the G3. Very nice little player. The only problem with it that is common is that the buttons can sometimes break. This is a fairly easy fix by just opening it up and resoldering them,

I got my daughter an iAudio G3 2GB for Christmas and it is one very nice player with great sound. If you treat it right it will last you a long time. I suggest going over to Anythingbutipod.com because it will contain a tremendous amount of info that can help you to decide.

Alkso, check out the customer reviews at Amazon.com.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.
Ive read a lot about the pros, but I was wondering if you could mention any cons or regrets regarding your purchases?

Anyone else care to chime in or does everyone have a player with a proprietary battery?

I have one of these I purchased off a trader in the FS forums here on AT & I love it. Considering how cheap SD cards are (you can get a 1gb SD card for $12 on Amazon), you can basically have a flash-based mp3 player that runs off batteries with 7-8gb of storage if you're willing to carry around 2-3 SD cards. It runs on AAA batts, btw, not AAs.

I think the biggest cons to the iAudio G3 (also known as JetAudio; the company is COWON)) are...

1. It only comes with a tight clear plastic cover that you can place your player into. Because you cannot feel some of the buttons because of the plastic you can easily press too hard and break the internal wiring. I know some have done this.

2. The screen is small but doable and because of its size the controls may take some getting used to but nothing major.

3. The Manual is okay but I highly recommend downloading the online PDF manual. This little player packs a lot for its size.

I must say as I did before, the the G3 has some amazing sound quality and the ear plugs it comes with are pretty decent. It is small so you can easily in a shirt pocket and if you work out it won't skip due to it being Flash based.

If the G3 isn't to your liking then I suggest the Creative MuVo V100 2GB flash player. I have it and love the ease of software. It certainly is a basic MP3 player but has an equalizer, etc. Between the two I'd choose the G3 but I am pleased with the MuVo.

I also like the idea that I don't have to recharge my battery 3 to 3.5 hours by hooking my player up to my PC via USB.

Again, check out the reviews at Amazon.com. I also highly suggest checking out Anythingbutipod.com because every manufacture that makes MP3 playres is there with the their myriad of models. It helped me settle on the G3. Of course, you won't find iPods. ;)
