In many games, I noticed that you can change AA and AF (Half-Life 2) settings within the game an in other games )(Far Cry and Doom III), you can only change AA settings. Obviously, these are in-game settings.
I was wondering, is it better to change AA and AF settings globally (control panel) or change the AA and AF settings via each game? Also in games like Far Cry, where I can only change AA settings, does that mean that I should enable AA via game and AF via the control panel?
I noticed that when you change AA and AF settings via the control panel, you get more of a performance hit? What methods does big sites like Xbit Labs, AnandTech and TomsHardware use for their testing?
Thx.
