If I max out AA and AF on the ATI X800XT's Catalyst settings, do I need to enable them when I play HL2 and CS: Source as well, or will they already be turned on? Does this apply to all games?

Also, is it possible to have the TV (connected by S-Video) set to 800x600 and the primary LCD display at 1600x1200 simultaneously, or will I have to change resolution back to 1600x1200 on my primary monitory every time after I clone the display to the TV?

Thanks in advance :)

Its best to leave the AA/AF settings in the drivers to off, and just set them through the game.

Not really sure about your second question.

If you set it on 16xaf and 6x aa in drivers, it overwrites any setting in the game that says otherwise. So if you have aa on in the drivers, but off in the game, you will get aa in that game.

what dark meant was to put aa and af to application preference and then set in the game

for some reason tho on my rig theres like a 8fps diff on the HL2 stress test, between enabling aa and af through the game, and enabling it in the drivers....wierd

No, it's better to force it through thr drivers and have one central place to control it.
