heres some of my specs:

AMD 64 bit 90nm 3000+
A8V deluxe Motherboard
300W intel ATX enlight HPC-300-101 power supply
2x 256 corsair ram
20 gig maxtor "crap" hard-drive
5200fx (temporary)
Working case

To put it simple i CANNOT boot/start this computer. I can have everything taken out exept for the ram and the video card and the fans wont even run. All i get is a very small clicking noise that will not stop until i yank the cord out. I do not have a 4 pin connecter on the power supply and i have tried 2 diffrent ones. 1 was 250 watts and the other was 300. I dont even have a power supply fan spinning. is it a power supply issue or a motherboard issue? I tried calling ASUS and their telephones were down. You guys are my last hope.

Welcome to the Forums MCChris777 :) You need the ATX12V power cable hooked up because that's where the CPU's power circuitry gets its 12V power from. If the PSU doesn't have one, then you need a new PSU, basically. I vote for one of the new Enermax models that have dual 12-volt rails, 370 watts or higher, if you plan to have a good high-end video card in there after a while. Here's one: 420W Enermax.

Additionally, on at least some A8V Deluxes you need BIOS 1008 to run a 90nm-core A64 with two memory modules. You can determine what BIOS the board came with from the factory by looking at the sticker located here. If you have 1007 or earlier, try using only one memory module, in slot DIMM_B1 (third from the left), and see if it'll POST (but first you need a suitable power supply). Then you can update the BIOS to 1008 for proper 90nm support.

Hope that helps :)

I hear ya, I'm on a 1GHz Duron with a Voodoo3 2000 PCI card :( You might be able to get it to run as it stands right now, if you use one of these adapter cables.
