A8V deluxe fan problem

i have an asus a8v deluxe. I changed my overclocking setting from auto to 5x. I rebooted the computer and it said cpu fan error. so i went into the bios and put it back to the default - auto. I rebooted. cpu fan error again! so i went back to the bios and looked at the harware monitor and it said my fans were running at about a third of the speed they usually do. did i break something? i have no idea what could have happened. oh, and i have a amd athlon 3200+

I seem to remember that happened to me once awhile back. I don't remember what fixed it. Try resetting the CMOS.

yeah, i tried that, but it still says its slow. i know my fans arent slow, i can see them, i think this might be a problem with the sensor...
