I got my A8V Deluxe to post (After a couple of Cmos clearings) once I was told to switch to a different power supply, but after I had it running one day, I decided to flash in the windows environment(flashed to 1011). After I flashed they wanted me to restart my computer. After restarting it wouldnt reboot no matter how many cmos clearings i did. So i ordered a new bios chip. Anyway, today I got the chip and it wouldnt boot up still.
Anybody have a idea how to fix this?

Here are my specs:
A8V deluxe mobo
AMD winchester 3000 and a 3400 procesor ( the 3000 is in the computer right now)
corsair value select dual channel mem pc 3200. 2*515mb=1gig
Geforce FX 5700Le 256
120 gb Maxtor hard drive

:( that's odd. I had no problem at all with my a8v... did you try to boot with 1 stick of ram on center memory row?

mobo troubles suck... hope you get it sorted out.

ill try that, i think im going to buy a POWMAX 580 watt power supply and see if that fixes the problem. Right now im using a 480 watt Power supply that I had never heard before. Maybe not enough voltage to the 12v plug? It would boot up every once in a while though with that power supply

The board has a bios recovery option. It is next to impossible to total a bios flash on it. I have used the recovery on an A8N. All I can suggest is RTFM. It is in it how to recover the bios.

I would look it up for you but I am not in the mood to work right now.

Sweet...glad to hear you worked it out...I had an issue where it (1011) switched my Promise controller on by accident, but I called ASUS and they straightened everything out.

I'm glad that worked for you, but you're seriously asking for trouble with Powmax.

And that motherboard is really picky with powersupplies. I couldn't get mine to post with an Antec True 380 powersupply, but it has worked like a charm ever since I got an Enermax power supply.
