A8R32-MVP & SI-120 ARE COMPATIBLE!

Anyone out there running the ASUS A8R32-MVP with an SI-120? Now that I've gone with a fanless mobo I'm considering swapping out my XP-90/L1BX for a SI-120/L1BX. It is a close fit by the capacitors on the K8N Neo4 PE and it looks like it will fit on the A8R32-MVP, but the A8R32-MVP's VRM heatsink is a little on the tall side, so I can't be sure.

I guess if it doesn't fit I'll just mount the SI-120/L1BX in my wife's Opteron 175 system, since the Retail Opty's 80mm fan is a little whiny compared to the XP-90/L1BX thats in it now. Thanks in advance for your help.

EDIT: I spoke to George in Tech Support at Thermalright last week, and was told that Thermalright had not tested the SI-120/A8R32-MVP together so he couldn't guarantee compatibility. Well, UPS delivered my SI-120 along with a couple of Panaflo FBA12G12L 1BX (68.9 CFM, 30dBA@1700RPM with speed-sensing rotor) fans this morning.

Just got home from the office a little while ago and had a chance to try the install and it fits like a charm. Lots of clearance so airflow around all the components is good since you will be using a 120mm fan.

Since the mobo was already installed in my case (and it is hard to tell due to the perspective when looking down into the case) I could only "eyeball" the clearances. However, there appears to be about 7mm of clearance between the "outer" heatpipes and the VRM heatsink. There is probably about 9-10mm of clearance between the floor of the main compartment and the fins of the SI-120 itself (for those unfamiliar with the Lian Li V-Series, they use an inverted motherboard layout).

For those considering using an SI-120 on the (ASUS) A8R32-MVP go for it. Definitely works in a V1000 too! Hope this helps.

Actually, according to their sigs and some of their posts about the A8R32-MVP, several members do own it. What I asked is much more specific - namely is there anyone out there running the ASUS A8R32-MVP with an SI-120?

doubt there will be much of a problem i plan to get the a8r32 with a scythe ninja.. the si120 is only a bit wider on the sides?

The whole point of the si-120 was complete compatibility.
No kidding. But you do realize that the SI-120 was released well before the A8R32-MVP became available, right? The A8R32-MVP has been in circulation in the States for less than three weeks, so I make room for the possibility that it has not been tested by Thermalright and posted to their web site.

I would like to have confirmation from someone who has the hardware in hand that it fits before I buy it along with some 120mm fans (I like to have a spare or two). I guess I have to be the guinea pig this time...

EDIT: I spoke with a Thermalright tech guy (George) this afternoon. George said that Thermalright has not tested the A8R32-MVP with the SI-120. I told George that I was going to order an SI-120 and that I would email Thermalright with my observations, especially if there are any fitment problems between these two components. I'll post my results after I get my SI-120 and my (120mm) L1BX Panaflo (ordered from JabTech this afternoon.
