A8R32-MVP failure! Anyone have a black screen problem unexpectedly?

I was hooking up a Thermaltake Express 250W dedicated GPU PSU, and then the PC wouldn't boot at all. The GPU had a solid red light (which I've heard mean not enough power) but I had all 6 and 8 pins powered. Every boot, in either slot with 2900 and 1900 alternately trying a VGA cable and both DVI outputs on each card and all I got was spinning fans and lights. No screen output whatsoever, and no beep. It's evidently not POSTing or anything. I swapped out the mobo and booted the first time.

I also ordered a new pre-flashed BIOS for the old one. Does anyone think it could be just a fried BIOS? I had no problems until I plugged in the power adapter that allows 2 PSUs to run on the same mobo, but I know the plugs were installed correctly.

have you tried not running the 250w and just run your PC P&C by itself?

yes I completely pulled the 250, and nothing changed. I am running on the A8N32 now since I only have one GPU and both PCIe 6 pins are powered by the 250W. It seems plenty stable. The only thing that could have happened is that no power or signal was going to the PCI-E bus, since everything else did and still works.

What's the best way to test the motherboard to see if it's actually the PCI-E bus thats failed? I have a BIOS chip on the way.
