yes but only if you overclock.
at stock it will run at pc3200 speeds. when overclocked to 250fsb it will run at pc400.

I have that mobo and PC-4000 ram, it works fine if you overclock. with no overclock it runs at 3200 speeds, but i have the FSB at 312, using a ram divider to get the ram speed down to 255MHz. It works just fine. If you won't be overclocking though, get PC3200. (the mobo has a weird ram controller, you raise the ram speed to 250MHz with a 200MHz FSB, the ram speed drops to 129MHz. It's weird, so don't buy unless you will be OC/ing)

Same mobo, running it a DDR500 (PC4000) speeds. CPU is Opty 175@250x10, the only problem I have now is a little bit much heat, but some WC should fix that :D. Looking forward to be able to run 1.5+ volts into it with out worrying about the heat.

I seem to have hit a wall with my ram (DDR500 OCZ Plat. EB) at 250mhz. I'm still trying to get it above that. All other users of that ram seem to have gotten it too at least 270mhz and above. But yes, it will run DDR500 ram.

forgive me for being noob
but how do i hit the actual speed without oc'ing my proc? I will OC my ram NP

But I thought the sticks are already ddr500 doesnt that mean it has more potential to hit a higher level?

i'm just confused on why you need to overclock something when the ram is actually ddr500
the CPU needs to be overclocked to take advantage of it??

ddr ram means double data rate.
double data rate means it works on the up and down sides of a current of electricity.(1 hertz of electricity looks sorta like a arrorow with a slope up and a slope down)
the current of electricity refresh speed is your fsb speed.
your stock fsb speed is 200 million hertz.
200 million hertz x2 = 400 million hertz
your ram will run at 400 million hertz.
if you oc to 250million hertz, the ddr ram will run at 250million hertz x2(500 million hertz)

I thought you were going to do some serious overclocking with all that watercooling you got?

What processor you have? Surly a little OCing wouldn't hurt? Getting the processor to 250mhz isn't all that hard. If you lower the multiplyer one or two it should be no problem. Without knowing what processor you have it's a tad hard. You have Water Cooling? Then your almost REQUIRED ;) to overclock.

What does the 4800+ run, 12x200? With watercooling and 1.5volts of power, you could probably get that to ~2600-2800mhz. PROBABLY. Not really sure, but with water and enough volts you could get 250x10 which is faster than you already have. And that would make your ram DDR500 if you run it 1:1.

Summary of AIM discussion:

Broly has spend approximately $1000 on a watercooling setup that he picked out himself without asking anyone.

Who thinks he should overclock his stuff?

I'm about to spend about ~$300 on my Watercooling setup that WILL perform better than his :D. I'm happy.

And he should OC. Not overclocking with WC should be a crime.

Note to all: I'm done with Broly in general. Too frustrating. I should be paid to deal with this.
