well i have asus a8n32sli deluxe motherboard and i wanna know that there are two types of power connectors on all motherboard one is 20/24pins and the other is 4pin but in a8n32sli deluxe there are three the extra one is aux power with 4pin molex connector

can anyone tell me why is that for
is it really necessary to connect it with the PSU

Unless you are running an SLI config...you don't need it. If I remember correctly it's just a backup power source for the bus lanes or the actual cards or something like that. You will still need to connect each video card to a 6pin molex that is on the actual card...but if you are running SLI it's recomended to connect that legacy 4pin one on the board as well.

Its reconmended to plug everything in for stability-whatever setup you are running (this is from DFI, their boards have the same connectors).

Theres 3 sockets on that mobo. The 24 pin motherboard power, the 4 pin Processor Power (square socket) and the 4 pin PCI-e power (4 pin molex). You have to plug in the 24 pin and the 4 pin. The molex is only needed when runing SLI.

One thing to note, the 4 pins extra on a 24 pin connector will NOT go in the 4 pin square socket. You need to fill all 24 pins and the 4 pin socket with the proper connector.

Not true. I run a 20pin Trupower on this board and if you don't use a 24 pin psu, you need to use the 4pin molex to boot (not just for SLI/stability).
