So after wondering why my chipset temperature is so high at idle I found on the forum that the heatpipe does not work when upside down

I was wondering if I could buy 2 zalman NB-47 passive coolers and install those with as5 as an alternative? has anyone done this? if not anyone care to speculate if this will work or not? thanks!

sorry i cant answer your questions, but i have an a8n32 and ive been looking at the lli v1000. I think ill have to use the entire case in reverse (upside down) of course i will install the drives right side up. do you see any problems with just removing the wheels and using it upside down?

well not a big problem, but how would you open the doors? im not sure how it is on a 1000 but on the 1100 you open them upward. Other than that, i can't think of a reason why you couldn't use it upside down except for the top being ugly cuz it has all the screws etc.

the harddrives you attatch a special screw and they slide into the bays so that won't be a problem.

Search the Cases & Cooling Forum with the word Heatpipe.

This is very well discussed and I think you'll find your answer there.

cool, i cant tell how the doors work from pics, but i suppose i could get around that somehow. what about lying down like a rack mount, could you possibly mount the dvd sideways? that would be an awesome setup for airflow, as all four sides could be vented, and would cater to a Scythe Ninja cooler.
