Hey all,

Saw someone post that they had issues with SLI in Windows xp 64bit.
I did not see any response to the post so I am wondering if anyone
has gotten it working? I am putting my box together today and want
to be sure what OS I should be running to take advantage of the SLI?

Thanks Much,
James Waymire

That someone would be me. I still havent gotten it to work. I really like x64, but if one of my cards is going to be useless, looks like Im downgrading to x32.

It shows the second card in the device manager, but with an ! beside of it. I had both cards when I installed the drivers, so I dont see what the problem is. One card just isnt installing.

So you have enabled it at the Bios level, and also at the advanced settings level in the display properties? There is a section somewhere in the display settings that allows to enable multi GPU rendering. I saw it somewhere on the asus forums. Also the forceware drivers for 64bit say they support SLI. Just can't find anyone actually running it to make sure it is fully supported.

As far as I know, there is no BIOS switch for SLI like in the past. There is no SLI option in the drivers for me, its like the card is not even there. Im uninstalling the 82.12's right now (other PC) and installing the 81.98's. Ill report back in a few minutes and see if that fixed the problem.

It worked! The 81.98's enabled SLI. For some reason the 82.12's didnt work. I normally stick to official drivers, but I used the 82.12's on my Premium, and it worked fine.

Sweet so I just pulled mine out of the box and am about to start my build. Do I need to do anything before I install windows? MOBO Bios update or anything? Been a long time since I did a build. Not sure where to start.

No it should run fine as is. To the guy that couldnt get x64 up and running: Why the heck would you try an offical driver before condeming the OS?
I mean, you try one bleeding edge BETA driver, thats hardly available and think the motherboard and OS are at fault?? Nuts man. N00b TUBE!! HAHAHA
Jk glad it works
