A8N-SLI Premium won't boot after driver install

1. Install the latest nVidia drivers from nVidias website not the ones on the mobo disk, and don't install the nvida IDE drivers, they work for some, not for others. But the standard windows IDE drivers always work.

2. This board requires a strong PS with a strong 12v rail 24a+, weaker PS's will cause all kinds of problems

3. Don't install the NV firewall until you get your system running trouble free, like the NV IDE drivers, it causes problems with some configs but not others. This way if you get your machine running trouble free, and have problems after you install the firewall you will know what the problem is

I have an A8N-SLI Premium and a Maxtor Diamondmax 10 300GB. I had problems with the NVIDIA IDE drivers as well, especially on boots not going or taking too long. Do not install them. No problems since I reformatted and didn't install them.

I may have found the culprit of this "missing hdd" issue. Let me ask you guys a simple question: Do your hdds have jumpers on them?

I simply took off these jumpers and problem hasn't resurfaced.

I am having the same problem with my plextor 716sa.. I'd turn my pc on and my post wouldnt show my plextor drive... I turn it off and on a couple of times and and it would re-appear. I tried this question at dfi-street but no one had any fix..

Hi all! I have had the same problem. Though it happend on an Epox 9NPA+ Sli board. I was using the SI SATA in Raid 0 with a maxtor and a Samsung HDD. Once I treid to boot up and one of my drive was missing so far it happend only once.
