A8N SLI Premium heatpipe is really hot - problem solved!

i've had this system with an A8N-SLI Premium build for a long time, and it's rock solid, constant on 24/7.

I was swapping out my 6800GT for a 7800GT recently and decided to poke the heatpipe with my finger. to my sirprise it was VERY hot. I can't keep my finger on it for longer than maybe 6 or 7 seconds.

I have no system stability issues, but i wanted to see if that was normal, otherwise i'll add a northbridge fan on top of the heatpipe block.

EVEREST reports 37 deg. for Motherboard and 36 deg. for processor.

thanks,
Leon

update:

i decided to flip the Panasonic Panaflo 120mm fan on my XP-90 CPU cooler to push air into rather than pull it out of...so now there is airflow going through the HSF overhang lip to the cooling fins by the capacitors. now everything is nice and warm. my gpu temp went up 2 degrees, since part of the the air that was being drawn through the hsf fas blowing out over the top of the video card. i think the 2 degree difference on the gpu is well worth not burning yoursefl on the heatpipe.

this is pretty much my setup, except the HSF is flipped 180 so that the overhang is over the capacitors, and now the fan is blowing air down through the lip onto the capacitor/heatpipe fins. i'm not sure why all install pics and reviews show the XP-90 installed over the RAM...who the hell wants to install it over the ram sockets, worse yet, deprive the heatpipe fins from ANY airflow.

now....i dont think there is anything that can be done about the ATI theater 550 Pro card, i can prepare steak on that card.
