A8N-SLI on board sound VS. SB Live!

I am building a rig and have limited funds right now. I plan to upgrade bit by bit so I don't plan to buy a new sound card. I have an Asus A8N-SLI. I also have an old, circa 2000-2001, Sound Blaster Live! that was on my old computer. Which one would be better, the SB Live! or the on board sound on the A8N-SLI. I have all the original CDs and documentation for the Live! and can get new drivers from Creative. However, if it is no better than what's on the A8N, I don't want to waste my time. Opinions please?

Check out the SLI board roundup on the front page of anandtech. The Live! is the superior option.
