Did you realise, that they have never released non beta bios? The last non beta bios is still 1001 🙂 Bit wierd isn't it?

Have had lots of problems with setting ram at 2-2-2-5 for at ddr400 for 1005s_01 so have gone back to 1001 and problem is fixed.

Weird

I'm planning to buy ASUS A8n-SLI standard, but it looks like you people are excited to download the new BIOS update. Was there any problem you'd experienced before the update?

we finally have a new non-beta official bios too 🙂
well, now there are 2 new bioses to try out... pity my system isnt here at the moment.

new beta bios 1005-002 came out first it seems, three days later an official 1004 bios
also i've read some threads about the new deluxe beta bios 1007.XXX giving a good OCing boost, maybe that'd be in our beta too 🙂

so if anyone has tried out either the new beta or official one already, please post your impressions 🙂 in particular, do the volts work, and is there any improvement in OCing even at the same volts you used before? (btw about the cpu volts setting in 1003 i found out that 1.57 works fine for me, but some other values i tried like 1.45, 1.5 dont work. whatever, we got newer versions to try now)

Check out the new Asus Intel SLI mobo released a few days ago. Notice how they have used AMD SLI version customers to revise the mobo. No whiney chipset fan. SLI led indicatore light...I'm sure they managed to make things very nice for their cash-cow Intel customers AFTER using us as lab-rats with their rush to market AMD SLI set-up.

Sounding a bit pissed??? You bet i am!!!

aaah i see. well, i dont have memory good enough to be concerned by this issue 😛
it seems to me that you're just asking too much of your memory... and even if your memory is certified for such high freqencies, the mobo isn't.
i'd just advise that you run higher multiplier(or if you're lucky enough to have your cpu running 250+ mhz at max multi, use a mem ratio), lower fsb/htt at tighter timings. the performance difference from different ram speed at the same cpu speed is minimal

sorry if this answer disappoints you, but be realistic - its not very likely they'd ever fix this with just a bios update. after all, the mobo was designed to run at 200mhz.

or do such frequencies work fine with the deluxe boards at 1t? if so, then there's something spooky, i admit 😛

maybe they'd surprise us and get this working too 🙂 then this'd be the best overclocking nf4 board together with the msi and dfi. just dont get your hopes too high - i find it more likely that such kind of OCing will be possible with the next hardware revision only.
