a8n-sli does not power off on XP/SP2 shutdown

is this normal? I have all the various ACPI options enabled in the BIOS but when I shut down my PC it does not turn off on its own (it goes to the 'it is safe to turn your computer off' screen). Can anybody point me in the right direction?

You have an application hanging. Try logging out. It may show itself there.

if it was an app hanging it wouldn't shut down cleanly, which it does: it shuts down and goes to the 'you can turn your system off now' screen like in win98 basically, rather than actually turning itself off as well.

Check the settings in bios under Power management. Maybe something there?
