2 desktar 250gb sata II in raid 0
2 gb pc3200
600w Noisetaker psu

I have an extra hdd laying around, 160 Maxtor SATA I
I am having trouble adding it to my rig
I dont want it to be part of the current raid
I just was hoping to use it as a hdd for back up of picutres/movies, then to move the hdd to toher computers to do more backign up or to htpc for viewing movies
I am currently using the sil image raid, and have the 2 desktars installed on raid slot 1 and 2
there are 6 slots open, (4 nvidia and 2 remaining on the sil img)
When i plug the unformatted drive into the nvidia sata slot, nothing happens,
When i plug the unformatted drive into the sil image slot #3, i see it in the raid screen at boot, and thats it
I dont know how to install this drive to be a separte drive,
I dont know how/when to format it
etc.
I am wondering if the drive is bad, or if it is something more technical or an existing issue with the board
