My computer keeps rebooting once it gets into windows and I cannot get into safe mode. Is there a trick with this mobo to get into safe mode? I hit f8 as it's booting and choose the hard drive. Is this correct?

Any help will be much apprectiated.

Yes, hitting F8 will get you into a window that asks what you want to boot from (cd, floppy, hd, etc) if you hit it early, just select HD, then keep hitting F8 and it will go into a screen asking whether you want to boot in safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc.

Seems like there is an issue with your installation of windows maybe. If it's so screwed up it might not make it into safe mode.

I didn't know I had to keep hitting F8 after selecting the hard drive. Thanks.

Actually, I figured out the problem with the computer. It has been running fine since January and I just moved it to a new location. When connecting the LAN cable I plugged it into the wrong LAN jack on the back of the motherboard. The port that works, and I've alway used, is the Marvell. Trying to use the nforce 4 port was the problem. I won't make that mistake again.....I thought it was really messed up!

No prob, that's what the forums are for, help if you need it.

I always mis-time when I'm suppose to hit F8 to go into the screen that selects safe mode so I just hit it early, go into the boot selection screen where you choose which device to boot from and then keep hitting F8 to go into the safe mode selection screen. Seems like you are just hitting F8 as soon as you start the computer and not knowing there is another boot selection screen.
