I'm also having the same problem. It says in my nvidia settings its PIC BUS x8. I dont know if it's really at x8 or what, but my girl's computer hers says x16? but when i right click the desk top and go to the properties in my MSI tab the check mark is on "PCIE 16X". I have the asus A8N-SLI mobo and a MSI 6600gt graphics card.

is it set in "SLI mode?"

when you run SLI, it will run 2 gfx cards at x8 each

one gfx card will run at x16

Unless the card is placed in the bottom PCI-E port and the selector set to run in Dual, then you'll also get 8x with one card.

I am confused though. In Display Properties, is your card listed as 8x or 16x?

I show 8x on my set-up. But I'm not complaining with default settings on 3Dmark and benchmarks of 13984 I'm quite sure that It's werkin just fine. Make sure you have the enable sli box checked and run some tests on it..

Its supposed to split the slots into 8x each. Read the reveiw of the board here at anadtech. *x on each pci-e slot is more than enough

I believe the point is that people running one card are seeing it as x8 even though it is not in SLI mode and the selector is set to one card. This is what I have been seeing.

Had this problem as well. Fixed it by reseating the selector card and then clearing the CMOS. Your mileage may vary.

ive tried that and many other combinations.. what's interesting is that i get no video if the ez-selector is on "single video card".. pc will boot though, after a POST error of "system failed vga test".

Removing the card totally also helps getting video, but i'm still reporting 8x.

Contacted ASUS support.. awaiting the official response.
