If installation instructions already exist somewhere can ya give me a link?
If not could you give me a rundown with pictures if at all possible on the installation procedure? The noise of the old one is pretty loud and its making noise right now.
AND I CAN'T STAND IT ANY LONGER HELPPPPPPP!!!!

1) put on some coffee to brew

2) take the motherboard out of the case

3) pinch together the prongs (semi-related illustration, pinch together the tips of the blue part) of the heatsink's spring-loaded retaining pins so they can retract through the motherboard. Use a pliers and be careful not to slip and damage the traces.

4) have some coffee and a snack 🙂

5) apply thermal grease to the surface of the northbridge chip and push the pins of the new heatsink through the motherboard.

then you don't need paste

mech was thinking you bought an aftermarket chipset cooler

Use some Goo Gone and get rid of that stupid tape, then use some thermal grease instead. I do this to my boards and it has proven to reduce NB temps by up to 10c.

Don't worry, it won't be hard. Just take your time and be patient. All I did to remove the original hsf was to use a needle nose pliers and pinch the two things that held the hsf in place. Easy as 1 2 3.
