A8N-SLI Deluxe BIOS

The BIOS (I am running 1006) for the A8N-SLI Deluxe has a section that states the version of the RAID BIOS and then prompts "Press <Cntl-S> or F4 to enter RAID Utility".

Anybody know if there is a way to disable/restict/remove this prompt? It is not a big deal, but I don't have a RAID setup and this prompt just slows down the bootup process a bit.

Are you using any SATA drives on the Silicon Image ports? If you are then you will have to live with it. If not disable the Silicon raid in the "Onboard device config" page

Yeah, that's what I did and it's much nicer to not have that extra prompt. It will save time on your rebooting as well. If you?re over clocking and you don't have more that one or two drives then I would recommend NV SATA ports 3 and 4 as they are the only ones that are locked (so I hear).

I use the NV 1 & 2, and I've had HTT as high as 325mhz, and I've been running pretty much 24/7 at HTT 290mhz for four months, so I'm pretty confident that 1 & 2 are locked as well.

I have a SATA Drive installed (not in a RAID setup). I did disable the 'Silicon SATA Contoller' as suggested and the prompt no longer appears. In doing so, am I disabling anything I potentially need though for this non-RAID SATA drive?

Thanks.

Good to know! I what to get another SATA drive and I'll have to use Ports 1 & 2!

If you?re not using RAID then you should be good to go! Your not disabling any other features that you'll miss later as long as your not trying to use the black SATA connectoes on the MoBo. I'm pretty sure the only thing your going to miss is the longer boot time!

If you disable the silicon SATA controller, you loose all devices plugged into the RED ports on your mobo... ;)
black ports is NV4 SATA...
