ACPI APIC Support option in the Power Menu section of the Bios. I am pretty sure this has something to do with the Asus AIBooster as the ACPI Driver is part of this software package.

Anyway I am posting to see if anyone knows exactly what ACPI APIC Support is for? If I am not using AIBooster do I still need to keep this enabled. I can't see any loss of performance or functionality after disabling it but I do like not seeing that stupid Unknown Device in the Device Manager without having to install the driver that is part of AIBooster.

Any input?

APIC has to do with assigning interrupts to devices automatically. It's not vital.

a quick google search says:

Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller ==APIC

(and its listed under power management)

and every doc that mentions it says ENABLE

:)

edit: finally found out what it does: allows access to extra IRQ's to reduce device contention.

Quite a few people have solved their problems by using this ...like scsi devices and such.
So i guess if you don't need extra IRQ's..then no problem :)
