i just got my a8n-sli and 2x512mb ddr400 corsair xms ram. I tried starting up my computer and heard this loud beeping sound. I'm assuming it's because I'm using slot DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 compared to using DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 which it says to use in the manual. is it ok to stick with the current ram slots?

o.k... I'll bite....

..... so why don't you switch them to the A1/B1 slots as recommended in the manual?

oops, shoulda mentioned that. my xp-120 is blocking the spot for DIMM_A1. thermalright said that the xp-120 does fit onto the board but I don't think they took into account the corsair ram that has the cool blinking leads on top which takes up all the clearance space (and then some).

so your corsair ram has blinking leds on the top part of it? If it has the same shape as mine, how snug is it? are they touching and is the HS pushing down on the top of your ram?

Yeah mine is the 4000pro with the leds ugg.

Install the Ram first heat pipes near the Ram, push a little but not to much :)

It fits just barely

actually when i bought it from my friend who works at corsair, i didn't know they had LEDs. But they indicate the load your ram is taking and it's blingbling when your friends come over to see your pretty rig. I turned the heatsink around and I had plenty of room for the ram. So yay for LEDs!
