I have had problems with the final release BIOS on the Asus website. I first tried 1004 and my computer would hang on startup, then when I tried to repair windows, it would hang on that as well. I reset the CMOS jumper and went back to 1001 which works fine but I want the OC options in the newer BIOS or I would just leave it alone. I then flashed the 1003 BIOS and they seemed fine for a few days. Then I set the AI NOS in the BIOS to 110% and it hangs again at startup. When I use AI OC it works fine at 110% on startup. If anyone knows how to avoid the lockups with 1004 or AI NOS with 1003 post it here. Post your BIOS experiences as well so we can get Asus to test their final releases to be bug free and release BIOS updates with more stability ASAP.

After flashing the bios, you are entering cmos setup and reconfiguring the bios for your particular hardware?

Yes, I go back in the BIOS and set the HT to 5X and other miscellaneous settings, nothing too drastic. What other settings might you be referring to? Also, I heard that the Nvidia raid driver needs to be installed and enabled in the BIOS in order for OC's to have stability, even if you have only one HDD. Is that correct?

If running multiple sata drives, you should install the nv raid driver when installing the os, as multiple sata drives will configure as JBOD. It's not necessary to install the nv raid driver to install the os (WinXP) if you're not installing a raid set, but like you already pointed out, the nv raid drivers are better for oc'ing. ;)
