A8N-SLI amd 3500 overclock help please

Any help would be great, im at the end of my noob rope and about to drown.
This is what Im running and would like to reach and overclock of at least 2.5- 2.6 ghz
Im running
Asus a8n-sli premium MOBO
1024 OCZ ram 2-3-6-2
AMD 63 3500 cpu (Venice)
2 x BFG 7800 GTX
Maxtor 120 gig 7200 rpm 8mb buffer
Audigy 2
Skyhawk 620 watt PSU

IS THERE ANYONE FAMILIAR OR HAVE THIS SETUP THAT CAN BASICALLY TELL ME:
what to set my stuff to so I can get to 2.5 - 2.6 ghz....? cause im running at 2.2 right now stock..

FSB
mem voltage
cpu voltage
HTT
etc...etc...etc.

Guess im trying to make it simple.

Try this

On the CPU/Dram config page
HT multi = 3x
Max mem clock = DDR333
Cool n' Quite = disable

On the jumperfree page
HTT = 260
Cpu multi = 10
Cpu volts = 1.55v
DDR volts = 2.8v
PCI clock = 33.33

That will give you 2.6ghz, if that doesn't boot drop the HTT to 255 or 250. If it does boot then you can try 262,265,267,270 etc.... And use Prime95 to test for stability

In my experience C n, Q limits your max HTT, on my board I can hit 310 with it disabled or about 257 with it enabled. If you want to use C n, Q just use a higher multi and a lower HTT. I'm currently using it with 255x11=2805mhz on a SD3700+

I usually advize first time overclockers to disable it just because it eliminates one more possible roadblock, but it's obviously a nice feature and if you want to use it just experiment with it and different HTT's. If you do use it I would recommend using RMclock to control the throttling, windows doesn't do a very good job at throttling.

hey guitar daddy. should i put my sata drive on sata 3 or 4. Ive heard about it locking up or causing windows corruption errors on boot if its lock or unclocked...??

something like that..

No, thats a problem that was common with NF3 boards. On this board all of the SATA ports are locked, I use 1&2 and have had HTT over 300 with no problems

I was having windows corruption errors at even low HTT's w/ my board until I switched from SATA1 to SATA3. Am running the 1008 bios revision [04/29/05]. It can't hurt to change it up, just a switch of the plug. Or not, if you're not having any problems.

No the DDR333 setting is actually the 6:5 memory divider, so if your HTT is at 260mhz your memory will be running right around 200mhz DDR400,

old link i know.
I have an nf3 board and i'm at 2.5ghz with teh multiplier set at 12. my max htt is around 260+ with everything else turned off. would i get as high as 260 if my sata drives weren't locked? with clockgen it says my pci and agp are locked, but would that mean my hard drive sata drives are locked also.

No you wouldn't have gotten to 260 if it wasn't locked

If clockgen shows it locked its locked, and that would include your sata hard drives

Same settings as GD proposed first, but start with a HTT of 230 and climb up, as the Winchester may hit the brick wall far earlier than the Venice...
For me it's at something over 2530 to loose prime stability even @1.6V...

If you end up <=250, you can up the HT multi to 4x again...
Also keep an eye on your temps and keep the voltage as low as stability / temps allow.

I agree with the Doctorweir, you may be hitting a wall with your processor I am getting a lot higher with the Opteron, I am running now @273x11 3003MHz

I was hitting 2.5 with my Winchester but, I upgraded to the OPteron.
