Both are in consideration for the new rig I want to build. I'm not overclocking that much, just an X2 4400+ to 4800+ speeds. Which one would be better overall?

Both are good.

I'd take the Neo4 myself, since Asus is generally overpriced.

Asus seems to be having Vcore issues where it is not being either reported right or just simply not what it says it's at. Do some homework and search the threads. Honestly I'm regretting not going DFI

I'm thinking of the MSI for my next build too either that or the new Sapphire ATI board. I don't mean to derail the thread but I'm curious as to the noise produced by the MSI Northbridge cooler. I would replace it with a passively cooled piece but it looks to be in the way of the PCI Express Slot (if I did change the cooler).

right next to the PCIE is true

<1mm between NF4 heatsink and the clip mechanism on the PCIE slot
<3 mm to the inside edge of my 6600GT

definitely would have to be a very slim cooler

If you had, say, a 6800u or 7800 and a Zalman, I don't think you could really do anything there except get an identically-sized (quieter) active fan

this fan does a really good job, just a little loud

I had lots of problems with a MSI Neo4 Plat SLI, I'm using a DFI now and it's great. So with that said, I'd go Asus.
