will this motherbaord be compatible with a venice processor out of the box. i have a router should i just use that and not install the nvidia firewall. i ordered one of the new heatsink fans anybody have an idea how long it will take to get here. and is it possible to run two sticks of ram in this board without dual channel. i need to do that in case my memory isn't match (didn't buy them togehter).

No problem with the board being compatible with Venice. But don't install the nvidia firewall. It usually creates problems. I received my new hs/f from Asus within a week after ordering.

Well - I definitely couldn't start my rig with 1 TwinMOS and 1 A-data, no matter what positioning I tried ? none worked. And even having two identical sticks of RAM, it is essential to put them in certain slots to work - according to the mobo?s Manual it?s the blue slots that are meant for dual channel. So I presume it will not work with different kinds of RAM. If you find a way, please post here, because now I have an unused 512MB A-data Vitesta TCCD

The A8N-E may be compatible depending on what bios it comes with. Sometimes you get one that has been sitting on a shelf for awhile that has an older bios.

When I bought the A8N-E, it came with the first release 1001 BIOS and I had no trouble installing a Venice processor and then flashing to the official "Venice" 1003 BIOS.

Worst case scenario is you may run into problems when booted into an O.S., but as far as the motherboard bootup and BIOS updates are concerned you'll have no trouble updating.
