About 4 days ago, the chipset fan on my A8n-e started buzzing/vibrating inside my tsunami case.
I have heard (read) from several forums that A8n-e rev1 chipset fans are prone to breakdown, and that people had to contact Asus to get a replacement fan. However, I have not heard of anyone else having problems with their Rev2 fan.
Anyways, I initally managed to stop the buzzing noise by tapping on the fan's center, that quieted it down until yesterday when it couldn't stop buzzing.
Futher taps on the fan proved useless, so I restarted my computer. The inital few seconds of boot-up generated no noise, but after a while, the dreadful noise came back.
Here is where I need your input. I want to know if anyone can pin-point the problem with the fan? ie, is something loose? or are the ball bearings shot?
Also, I want to know how to fix this problem. People said that they had good luck with the NB47J passive coolers, but I also heard people say that it overheats.
Lastly, do any Canadians here know how I can get ahold of Asus?
