a8n-e ram question

what is with the problem about not being able to put 4 sticks of ram in this motherboard. what is a good cheap overclock memory for the asus A8N-E. is it possible to run 2x256 same brand ram in a system without dual channel. i am not sure if these will work in dual channel becuase i bought them seperatley not in a pack. but they look identical though.

You could probably use them in Dual Channel mode, but you would need to test them seperately to see what kind of timings you can run each module at and then run them at the settings of the worst module - maybe a hair looser.

I believe if you run them in slot 1 & 3, that would not be a Dual Channel config. Not sure for this board I'd have to dig it up. Check your Manual or the ASUS Site, they should have something on this.
