Hey, first post so please bare with me.

a while ago i replaced the northbridge fan on my a8n-e with a zalman passive cooler. Lately, there have been a host of issues, leaving me wih a big one. I got the 1l 2s beeps indicating a graphics issue... but it stopped. It stopped loading my primary drive unless i kept the windows bootable drive in the cd rom, and finally just kinda would power up and do nothing. no beeps, nothing

it does that for a while, then kinda doesnt want to respond to the power switch. does not turn on, and those intermittent time it does turn on, she does not want to shut down. I end up using the psu switch on the back.

Once opened, i notice the northbridge heatsink was really loose. even jiggled. fans even flickered once when it moved.

so my question, did the northbridge fry, and would it result in all these issues? Is it possible that there is a short there? I have a new MB on the way, and I am ready to check here and there, but what a pain the butt. your opinions could help.

thanks
