*EDIT FIX AT BOTTOM*
This is the google chached version of the thread on this forum:
http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:rOJ...n&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=20&client=firefox-a

this is the actual thread which seems to be broken!!!!
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=29&threadid=1635094

I have the same exact problem as the above thread, but I cant find a way to view page two of that thread for a possible solution, if there is one.

My hardware:
Motherboard: Asus A8N-E BIOS v1013(latest one)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (san diego)
Memory: OCZ Platiunum 2 x 1 gig DDR400 dual channel
Powersupply: Enermax Liberty 400w

My problem in detail:
Ok I have had this problem with bios versions 1010, the one my motherboard came with, 1011 and 1013, my current one.

Whenever I change the CPU Frequency in the bios it will appear to have saved when I post, but once I get into Windows XP and use CPU-Z the CPU Frequency is at 201.5 (which is the same frequency with stock settings). I can hower change the CPU frequency with Asus Ai Booster or ClockGen. When I restart and go back into BIOS all my settings are still the same way they were when I saved and POST will still detect my overclocked CPU Frequency.

Any other BIOS option seems to save correctly within Windows XP. This includes the CPU Multiplier, CPU Voltage, DDR Voltage, Hyper Transport Frequency and all my memory timings.

I have AI N.O.S. and Cool'n'Quiet Disabled.

I called Asus tech support, but suprise suprise, they dont support any type of overclocking.

Also in the above thread pedramrezai quote:
"All you A8N-E owners with frustrating oc results read my thread under motherboard forum titled as oc'ing a8n-e and see the real potential of this mobo!"

I looked for this thread and could not find it.

Any help is welcome, I did some stability and had no problem getting 2806mhz at 1.3125 vcore and only 40 C Load Temp, but I have no permenant way of saving my overclocking!!!

That thread has some possible solutions, Enabeling the Floppy in BIOS fixed the issue for me... Very random.
