I recently bought a A8N-E at newegg and it arrived today and the box is not sealed. No banding at all and no tape. The static bag holding the motherboard is also not sealed but I don't know if it can or not. The other parts are all sealed and seem to be all there. So my question is: Did I get a used one or is it suppose to be like that?

Check the screw holes on the board. Do they show signs the board may have been mounted?

it doesn't look like it.....so I guess it's new but it's just weird that's it wasn't sealed up....

Another question....should I or shouldn't I plug the 4pin +12v connector from the power supply to the 4pin +12 connector on the motherboard? I haven't had a motherboard that had that type of connector and wasn't sure about it (the last one I got was an 8RDA+). My power supply is Antec 2.0 550W.

I think your motherboard is new. The last 5 motherboards I have recieved were not in a sealed box, but I'm pretty sure they're new.

You should plug that extra power connector in.

I just got one too, a Rev 2.0. It was in an unsealed box. I asked the store and the guy said they all come that way; I have done some business with the guy and he has never tried any funny stuff with me. It smelled new, that's for sure. :)

Everything else was sealed and brand new (manual, etc).

sometimes mb manufacturers will reflash the bios on mobos, thus the broken seals.
