A8n Deluxe OC Problem

I have a Asus A8n Deluxe with a opteron 165
When i try to overclock the cpu it underclocks it i have took it from 200 to 230 and it runs it at 1.5 ghz Even in cpu and windows it reads under
I updated bios still have the problem i'm running bios rev 1805

not sure whats going on with it i am new to oc but i have had this cpu @ 2.6ghz in a different mobo

Set the multiplier to 9 in BIOS and turn off any power saving features it might have, should fix the problem.

The motherboard has different dividers to set the ram speed and HT speed. You need to play with the HT multiplier and the ram divider. HT should be as close to 1000 as you can get it and ram to 400 (I think, can't remember with DDR). If you set the HT to 4, the total will be 900 which is not too bad. That chip should hit 2500 mHz though so you might want to leave the HT were it is and crank up the FSB some more. Set the ram down one divider notch and take the bus speed up. Also, set the chip voltage up some, it won't hurt the chip as long as you have decent cooling.
