Yes.. The page I mentioned is the ONLY page in the entire bios that shows the IDE channels.. Channels 1-4 are actually IDE.. Channels 5 and above show as IDE but are actually SATA...probably for backward compatibility with dos apps etc...
There is no option to disable the channel..u can only set the corresponding device in the channel to Not Installed..
The same page has a sub-page thing which only lets you disable or enable SATA channels, RAID etc..
There is another post of someone with the exact same problem..which he couldnt solve..
There is also no option to disable the entire IDE controller either.
