Hey Guys,

I am in india / Bangalore. I am planning a micro atx build using the cooler master 210 cabinet. I am planning to use the AMD 3.9 GHz FM2 Quad-Core A8-6600K as the cpu. I am trying to locate a motherboard which has hdmi and based on the A85 or A75 chipset. Looking at MSI or Gigabyte to save some cost. They are hard or impossible to find. It looks like most online vendors have stopped stocking the A 85 or 75 based m-atx boards and have moved to the A88, 78 boards.

I understand that the A88 AND 78 boards for FM 2 + (meaning kaveri ). If I buy these boards, can I use my FM2 chip (A8-6600K ) on them ?

Is there anything that I need to keep in mind ? I am at my wits end. I have not been following hardware for a while.

Appreciate your time..

Yes you can use a Richland APU in those mobos :)

Welcome to the forums and enjoy the build.

Thanks Alex....To clarify further I was thinking of marrying a AMD 3.9 GHz FM2 Quad-Core A8-6600K to a MSI A88XM-E35 or MSI A78M-E35. Are there better alternatives to MSI ?? The system will see moderate use only.

Will these work with a cooler master mini 210 micro atx cabintet ? This is an HTPC. I am planning to order these tomorrow and will send out updates.

Damn..I have not assembled a computer in the last decade :)

I'd have to say the ASUS A78M-A looks quite interesting.

As for board quality, if you stick with ASUS, Gigabyte or MSI there shouldn't be problems.
