I bought A7V8X motherboard and an AMD Atholon XP 2100 processor. I was wondering if there was any tips that I should know about putting these things together and finishing the construction of my new PC. I can follow the directions given but I dont want to make any stupid mistakes so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

um...stick it in the socket the right way (make sure pin holes are lined up correctly)
put on a thin layer of thermal grease
put on heatsink (one side of the clip first, then other, DO NOT push down on the heatsink at all-thats assuming you have a clip on heatsink?)
connect fan for heatsink up
thats it

the hardest/most tedious/nerve racking part would be puttin on the heatsink, so take your time there (also make sure to line up the notched side of heatsink up with the notched side of socket)

it always seems like you need like voodoo (not the company, the black magic heh) to get your machine up and running the first time you make one
