A7V8X Mobo Support Question.

Hi. I got my A7V8X couple weeks ago.. I was wondering what would be the best CPU that support it, and the best preference to RAM.

it will support pretty much every amd cpu
durons/tbirds/axp's/tbreds (evenwith 333mhz fsb)

are you an overclocker? or just a normal user?

if youve got teh cash, i would get the best you can right now if you dont overclock

2400/2600 are pretty good overclockers ive seen
not sure about 2700

also since you have a kt400 board, you could get pc3200 ram

**NOTE** on your motherboard however, pc3200 running at 200mhz/400 mhz ddr is only supported to 1 DIMM slot
pc3200/pc3000/pc2700 is supported to 2 DIMM slots running at 166mhz/333mhz ddr

Yea im a overclocker.. are you sure it supports 333fsb? i read sumwere it wont even nudge past 227.
and about the memory, what brand is te best from all?
 
This from Asus:

A7V8X BIOS 1008
Support AMD XP 2600+ CPU (FSB 333MHz)
Enable beep sound if DRAM not installed
Support new version of speech IC

So with the new bios the mother board supports 333MHz FSB.

Hmm, ok.. so i just put te bios update on a disk.. wont i need a starting cpu just to get it started and pass the cpu check to get to my bios place.
Theres a 266FSB version of the 2600+ isnt there?.
O yeah About the RAM from my previous post. which brand is the best
