A friend of mine wants to hold on to his A7V8X, but upgrade his CPU. Is the A7V8X a decent motherboard for overclocking a JIUHB? Is the multiplier unlocked by default- no need to connect the bridges? How high can the FSB go on the A7V8X?

Any input is appreciated.

if i remember correctly, the A7V8X does unlock the multipliers
i personally have little idea of how well it will overclock on a KT400 board
why don't you give it a try and report to us?:)

The problem is that its not me who is buying the CPU, its my friend. I personally wouldn't hesitate to experiment, but I don't want to give him bad advice.

Multipliers 12.5 and below will be available. You'll need to mod the CPU to go above 12.5 with that motherboard.
