A client of mine is having me see if I can get her computer working, she has a A7v400-MX, AXP 2000+, 256mb pc3200 (generic), 40gb Maxtor, 52x cdrom. The problem is: I get power running thru everything, fans spin but I there is nothing displayed on the screen, no beeps indicating a problem. This is the second motherboard tried as the first had the same problem. I have read thru the manual to see if there was a jumper to set the onboard video on, but I can't see anything regarding it. I have tried resetting the cmos both thru jumper and by the battery. I guess if i really need to, I can take my video card out and see if it will get something displayed. Also, almost forgot, I let it sit there powered on but with no display for a few minutes as I read thru the manual and the computer shut itself off, then I powered it back on about a minute later and it shut itself off within a few seconds; but when I leave it off for 20min or so and start it up it stays powered on for the few minutes as it did previously. I was thinking maybe it was overheating and the heatsink wasn't making proper contact so I reapplied it and AS5 with the same results. Any input on what could be the source of the problem would be appreciated....

Did you ever find an answer? I downloaded and was looking at the ASUS manual today & I noticed it says this mobo supports PC2700/PC2100/PC1600 memory. No mention of PC3200 - which I read somewhere else requires a bit more voltage than PC2700.
