A7V333 with PC2100 not booting?

Hi!

I bought an A7V333 (without raid), installed CPU & 1x256mb DDR PC2100. Doesn't boot. Continously beeps at regular intervals (no voice message). I borrowed 1x256mb PC2700 from a friend... installed... it booted! Oh.. faulty ram. I take my PC2100.. install it in his computer... oh... it boots... mem tests... oh.. no problem!

Any idea on the cause of this problem? I now wish I had bought the A7V266 instead of all these trouble 🙂
 
done that already about 5times for each of the 3 ram slots.. still no go. Talked to 2 vendors in the area. They're saying they never had any luck with a7v333 and pc2100... only worked with pc2700 (333)... Unless someone has a better suggestion.. I'll try exchanging my 266 -> 333.
 
This is somewhat of a lame ass solution:

You could boot to the BIOS w/ his RAM, and then change the timings down, to like cas3 if you can. Then swap his out and put yours in.
