A7V333 weird

Everytime I try to install the Asus Bios installer software it gives me an error that I dont have an ASUS motherboard. I've try it like ten times and the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's an ASUS..... Hmmmm maybe Newegg did a switch-a-roo on me. anyway, if anyone else has had this error I would feel much better. I've tried it on WInXP and WIn2k pro.

Compare your board against this set of photos of a non-RAID A7V333, or this set of photos if you ordered the RAID model of A7V333. Distinguishing characteristics include the tall silver heatsink with no fan, the words "A7V333" and "ASUS" silkscreened near the round battery, and an A7V333 logo should show on the screen when you boot up. The most plausible mixup would be if they had accidentally sent you an A7S333. Hope that helps with the identification. 🙂

As for the hangup, if your board is a confirmed A7V333 but it won't run the updater, try downloading a fresh copy of the updater from Asus' site here (if the site is up... right now it's down AGAIN :|). Good luck! And if you need any help with the MyLogo feature (such as how to reduce an image to 16 colors with minimal damage), I posted some instructions here.
