A7V333 rev 1.01 and a Barton 3000+

Anyone out there got the A7V333 rev 1.01 board? (mines that, with raid)

I want to put a Barton 3000+ on it. But the Asus site says it will support it with BIOS 1016 on a rev 2.0 board.......

I know the BIOS is a pre-requisite but how about the PCB? Anyone out there tried it? whats the fastest CPU you are running on it?

This sucks....I bought this board because i knew ASUS was going to release a flash to ramp it up to 166 FSB.....and now that its flashed up and ready to go it wont take Barton (which is just a T'Bred with more cache)

I have been talking to a lot of people from a lot of different forums.....

It seems that this revision wont natively support 166FSB without overclocking (and that isnt always successful either)

I am mega pissed. Cause now i'm in the same boat as you......

The following is what they told me......

ah heck it... I'm goin for a Soltek nForce 2 board now.....

Dear customer:
¡ô
The MB PCB version less than 2.00 can't support 333FSB CPU.

Thanks for Contacting ASUSTeK.

Thanks to choose ASUS & Any further information will be appreciated if you still have problems or have more questions about it.
Thanks!
