A7V333 Owners: Question about stand-by

Mr.Mike

Senior member
I just got a Asus A7V333 and love it. Fast and stable. My question is stand-by works great but the CPU and case fans still remain on. Any ideas? thanks in advance - Mike

You're not going to be able to turn off the CPU or fans. I guess you could use a "hibernate" feature to do that.

Actually, it works fine on the A7V333, you just have to have Suspend-To-RAM turned on in the BIOS during the OS install. Windows XP will then suspend and shut off the fans - better than hibernate - just as quiet, and quicker to restore.

Thank you, I enabled jumper mode and STR in the Bios I will reinstall XP and see what happens, - Mike
