I have an A7V333 and am having an issue with Interupts 14 & 15 existing
between my Primary & Secondary IDE Channels and two SCSI/Raid Host
Controllers. I connect my HDs via IDE and have the RAID controller disabled
on the MB. I can disable one of the two SCSI/Raid controllers but not both.
Is there any way to get rid of this conflich without reinstalling the XP Pro
OS?

Thanks,
KAPS

So the operating system thinks the onboard IDE RAID is there even when it's disabled by jumper?

Yes, the Raid jumper is disabled and yet it is still listed under interupt 14 & 15 in System Manager. I can disable/remove the SCSI/Raid device from interupt 15 but not 14. The only thing I can think of doing is to totally reinstall the OS after reformatting the HD.

If you know of any work around, then it would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Kaps.

Weird. I don't have any experience with WinXP myself, but here are my brainstorms:
  • Re-enable the RAID controller on the motherboard, boot to WinXP, remove the RAID controller from Device Manager, shut down and disable using the jumper
  • Remove the standard IDE controller and let WinXP "find" it again on the next reboot
  • Throw in your WinXP CD and see if it has a Repair option when you boot from CD

Is the situation causing any problems, or is it just the aggravation of WindowsXP being stubborn?
