is there any way to achieve a 166mhz fsb with a palomino chip on this motherboard ???
everytime i try to overclock or underclock on this board it just won't boot and the computer talks and says computer won't boot due to cpu overclocking

i tryed bios and jumper settings
and there is no L12 bridge on the palomino 1700+ package so i can't mod it

is there anyway to fool this stupid bios into letting me run a 166mhz fsb ??

hardware is not the issue it is an asus decided feature not to allow overclocking and it only allows settings that correspond to the cpu id

can anyone help ??

thanks

Your A7V333 (yeah, with KT333) SHOULD be able to run any processor @ 166Mhz. Check well all jumpers.

yeah i tryed both jumper and bios options
but it seems to sense the cpuid and not allow any cpu that was not meant to run at 166fsb go any higher than like 145 regardless of the clock mult or vcore
guess asus thinks they know better than the user
i can't believe how far they went to suppress overclocking on the a7v333
all other a7v's weren't this restrictive
it don't even have vdimm adjustments

if this palomino chip had an L12 bridge i could fix this whole problem but it looks like it's gonna be stuck at the lower fsb ohhh well

thanks anyways
