A7V266E - Bios need flashing?

Hello

newbie here. Anything to be gained by upgrading the Bios for this board? Getting a few hiccups in Win XP Pro, and don't know if anything to be gained by upgrading.

haven't installed Via 4-in-1 either, FWIW

Using XP1600, 768MB Crucial, on board sound, Kyro II

Well, if on the POST it say AMD H-series, or doesn't say Athlon XP 1600+, you need an update. I'm not sure if they got the Windows XP update made yet. My A7V266 had the exact problem with XP HE.
 
If you installed XP, that is Windows, it most likely installed Via 4in1(V. 4.34?).
Check your bios version out, if it's 1004b, there is no official upgrade yet. But I've seen people flashed to a beta bios w/mixed result.
