Hello and happy holidays to all,
I am putting together my new system, here are the specs
AMD XP 1600
Asus A7V266-E
ATI Radeon 7500
Sound Blaster Audigy
Western Digital 30 GB 7500 rpm
Windows 2000 SP2
Toshiba DVD-ROM
??? CD-R
Sony Floppy
I wiped out my harddrive and installed Windows 2000 and Service Pack 2, loaded the 4 in 1 drivers, and all was fine. As soon as I installed the Radeon 7500 drivers all went crazy. Now when the Windows 2000 splash screen, I get an error, and check disk runs automatically, then the system reboots. This does this everytime that I try to boot... an endless loop, unless I go in through safe mode. I then went in through safe mode and removed the driver, and all worked fine.
I checked for updates and found a new 4 in 1 driver that I installed, which didn't help. I then downloaded the newest Radeon 7500 driver and that didn't work... it does the same, starts to boot up then restarts. It's obvious to me that this is a problem with the Radeon driver, has anyone had a problem like this... or could it be something totally different. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
thanks
